ROP's Medical Careers Academy
is Growing

Enthusiastic students create amazing
wall art for the Savanna High School Medical Academy.

ROP now has four Medical Careers Academies!

One way North Orange County ROP has expanded its offerings to high school students is to offer many more medical careers opportunities to high school students. ROP now has four Medical Careers Academies on high school campuses.  Sonora is in the vanguard, having offered medical careers classes and summer internships for many years.  Academies were started at Valencia and Savanna last year, and this year Esperanza High School joins them.

Classes are so popular that students clamor for them in summer.  This summer, students from several schools enrolled in Bridget Wulff’s Medical Careers Academy. They worked hard in the class and liked it so much they got permission to create a mural as a permanent memorial to the class.

Savanna High School Medical Academy wall art demonstrates student creativity.

Look closely at the letters of Medical Academy.  The “D” in ”Academy” may look like a spilled glob of medicine, but it is a very accurate rendering of intestines!

Students who created the wall are, standing from left, Lani Castillo, Manpreet Singh; Aurene Ilag; Melissa Caloca; and Raveena Rajput. Kneeling, from left, are Richard Abrantes, Brian Beltran and James Chu.

The two Savanna High School students who worked on the poster above are Aurene Ilag and Jaccie Pack.
