The Health
Fitness and Sports Medicine course is an open-entry,
open-exit class designed to prepare students as service
workers in the health and fitness industry as well as student
trainers and restorative aides. Students completing this course
will find work in such places as health and fitness centers,
private physical therapy offices, athletic programs, and
extended health care facilities. Integrated throughout the
course are career preparation standards, which include
communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety,
technology, and other employment skills.
Students receive 180
hours of classroom instruction and 600 hours of training at
community classroom sites.
