Health care is tremendously affected by technology.  Highly technical and advanced equipment, and those who must learn to operate it, assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and disability.

Note: Health occupations classes include the study of reproductive and other systems and require practicing procedures on other students and/or patients, both male and female, of different ages.  Participation in these activities is required for a certificate of completion and continuation in the career pathway.  Additionally, these classes require heavy lifting and bending.

Medical Core is the prerequisite class for the following health sciences courses: Nursing Assistant, Nursing Assistant Acute Care, Medical Assistant, Computerized Medical Insurance Billing, and Medical Insurance Coding.

The LVN application process considers a number of factors.  Medical Core is recommended for those who have been out of the field for five years.
