The Telemetry
Technician course, a
competency-based ROP class, prepares students in fundamental
telemetry technician skills. Instruction includes risk factors
for heart disease, basic cardiac anatomy and physiology, normal
and abnormal cardiac rhythms, and application of monitor leads.
Integrated throughout the course are career preparation
standards, which include basic academic skills, communication,
interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and
other employment skills.
Students may train
for a maximum of 64 classroom hours.
