Job Title:

The Construction Occupations class is designed to teach beginning skills in carpentry and basic skills for the construction trades. The course covers safety, hands-on use of hand and power tools, blueprint reading, measurement and estimating.

Integrated throughout the course are career preparation standards, which include communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and other employment skills.

Students train at a simulated construction site, for a maximum of 1150 hours.
