Classes include
Windows 98 and 2000, Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Access), keyboarding, 10-key calculator, and other computer
applications. Bilingual instructors (English/Spanish) are available
in some classes.
The Entrepreneurship course is designed to provide the student
with the basic skills necessary for starting and operating a
small business. Included are developing a business plan;
completing all paper work for starting a small business;
choosing and maintaining an accounting system; developing a
marketing plan for at least three years; preparingloan papers for
presentation to a bank or small business administration;
understanding legal requirements; estimating cash and resources
needed to start and maintain a business profitably; understand
hiring practices; and an introduction to e-commerce.
Integrated
throughout the course are career preparation standards, which
include basic academic skills, communication, interpersonal
skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and other
employment skills.
Students may train
for a total of 90 classroom hours.
