ROP offers career training
after-school, evenings, and weekends. There are are no registration
fees for public or private high school students taking regular
courses.

students

All
high school students are eligible to take appropriate ROP classes.
"After-school"
classes are offered to ALLhigh school students
registered within school districts North Orange County ROP serves,
regardless of which home campus they regularly attend.
Alphabetical list
These programs provide
students with alternatives, and flexibility with school/work
schedules, and make it possible for students to earn high school credits
beyond the regular, bell-scheduled, school day.
Also offered are fee-based classes
open to adult students as well as
high school students. These courses are not publicly funded and there are no fee
waivers. Fee-based classes.
Instruction
North Orange County ROP courses integrate
academic studies and hands-on training. All instructors are
industry-trained professionals and California-credentialed teachers.
Most courses are sequenced, with advanced training in the field
available at area colleges. North Orange County ROP is WASC-accredited,
and its courses approved by the California State Department of
Education. Classes are conducted using one or more of the following
methods:
Classroom-only Learning takes place in a
classroom setting with hands-on skills training using
industry-standard equipment.
Community classroom (CC)
Students can earn credits for class and training
time. Learning takes place in both the classroom and in the
workplace throughout the course. Students training on the job in
business, industry, public agency or health provider sites are
unpaid.
Cooperative Vocational Education (CVE)
Students can earn credits for class and work
time. Learning takes place in the classroom and on the job, and
students are paid for their work on the job. Students must attend
their related classroom instruction at least 2.5 hours each week.
Credits and Certifications
Students earn high school elective credits for
ROP classes. Credits are issued by the high school. Each student who
satisfactorily completes an ROP class will receive a letter of
certification. Students can prepare for state and national
certifications in some classes.
Prerequisites
A current ServSafe certificate is required in
most Culinary classes except: Safety and Sanitation; Nutrition and
Menu Planning and Restaurant Management.
Medical Core
and CPR
certification
are required for enrollment in: Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Computerized
Medical Billing, and Medical Insurance Coding. Other prerequisites may
apply:

Articulation
North Orange County Regional Occupational Program
has articulation agreements with several local colleges for 47 courses.
These agreements permit students who have completed our programs to
enroll in advanced training at the college without having to repeat
some of the basics, and receive college credits for some classes.
UC Credit
Some ROP courses meet UC credit requirements for
entrance into the university system Students successfully completing
the following courses can earn fine arts "f "elective credits:

Registration
Public high school students: pre-register on your
campus.
Private and home schooled high school students: call the Student
Information Department for course availability at 714-502-5874, or

You are not registered in your class until you attend the first day
and submit a completed pre-registration form.
Fees
There are no registration fees for high school
students except in fee-based classes. There are nominal materials
fees in many classes for consumable items. Payment can be made in
class or online at the ROP Web Store link on our home page:

ROP offers a
variety of open-entry classes.
Students may enroll in "open-entry'
classes throughout the semester. A wide variety of courses are offered,
sometimes with on-the-job opportunities. Experienced instructors help
you start and advance through coursework, and some classes have a
self-paced learning environment. Open-entry classes allow you to fit
classes into your busy daily schedule, as training hours are often
flexible.

programs are available to adults.
Some programs are open to adult
students as well as high school students. These courses
are offered on various days at various times, including daytime,
late afternoon, evening, and weekends. Adults are required to
pay a tuition fee of $60 per class (fee-waivers may apply for
qualified adults). There are are no registration
fees for public or private high school students taking regular
courses.

on various days at various times, including daytime, late
afternoon, evening, and weekends and the fee costs vary per
course.
All students should register for fee-based classes at the
Education Center in Anaheim.
Earn elective
credits!
Elective credits may be applied
toward high school graduation. The number of credits is
determined by your high school.
Advanced
placement and college credit Certain
classes help you earn advanced placement and/or college
credit if you earn an A or B. Ask your instructor
about articulation.

to receive the advanced placement and/or credits vary by the
