ROP offers career training
after-school, evenings, and weekends. There are are no registration
fees for public or private high school students taking regular
courses.
Certain off-campus and after-school
classes are offered to ALL high school students
registered within school districts North Orange County ROP serves,
regardless of which home campus they regularly attend.
These programs provide
students with alternatives, and flexibility with school/work
schedules, and make it possible for students to earn high school credits
beyond the regular, bell-scheduled, school day.

ROP
offers a variety of open-entry classes.

Students may enroll in "open-entry'
classes throughout the semester. A wide variety of courses are offered,
sometimes with on-the-job opportunities. Experienced instructors help
you start and advance through coursework, and some classes have a
self-paced learning environment. Open-entry classes allow you to fit
classes into your busy daily schedule, as training hours are often
flexible.
Programs Available to Adults Some programs are open to adult
students as well as high school students. These courses
are offered on various days at various times, including daytime,
late afternoon, evening, and weekends. Adults are required to
pay a tuition fee of $60 per class (fee-waivers may apply for
qualified adults). There are are no registration
fees for public or private high school students taking regular
courses. Classes

Community Training Classes (CC) and
Cooperative Vocational Education Classes (CVE)
A wide variety of unpaid (CC) and paid (CVE) community-based workplace
courses are available. Students can earn graduation credits for
these classes, too.
·Community Classroom (CC) classes are available in several career
areas. Students intern in one of more than 700 area business sites to
learn skills on the job.
Community Classroom, CC classes have unpaid on-the-job
training available. See your counselor and/or instructor for more
information.

Cooperative Vocational Education (CVE) classes
include classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
Cooperative Vocational Education, CVEprograms are designed to allow working high school students earn high
school credits for the work they do at their job. Flexible, on-the-job training
opportunities are included in some classes.
Attend class each week, do scheduled work for your employer, and earn
credit toward high school graduation. An individual training plan is
established for you and a training agreement made with you employer that
assists you in mastering a wide variety of duties for your job.
Prerequisite: 16 years of age or older. CVE classes are
open-entry, or mid-semester entry.
Community Classroom (CC) Courses Students enrolled in the following
classes who successfully complete class work may be placed a a work site
for up to 30 hours per week (unpaid) to gain experience. High
school students can earn graduation credits for their training time.

Elective credits may be applied
toward high school graduation. The number of credits is
determined by your high school.
Advanced
Placement and College Credit
Certain classes help you earn
advanced placement and/or college credit if you earn an A or B.
Ask your instructor about articulation.
North Orange County Regional Occupational Program has entered
into articulation agreements with several local community
colleges. These agreements permit students who have
completed our programs to enroll in further training at the
community college without having to repeat some of the basics,
and receive college credits for some classes.
The requirements
to receive the advanced placement and/or credits vary by the
individual course. Inquiries should be made with your
instructor to learn the specifics. College processing fees
may apply.

Class Locations
ROP classes are
held in four facilities and 25 high schools in the
North Orange County region. Additionally, more than 650 local
businesses support ROP with on-site training for ROP students.
ROP afterschool
career-technical magnet programs are designed especially for
career-minded high school students. Explore careers along with students with
similar interests.
On-
and off-campus, after-school, evening, and weekend classes provide
high school students with alternatives, and provide flexibility with
school/work schedules.
Materials Fees: Some classes require
materials fees to cover the cost of consumables (something
you use or take home to keep). If a class has a materials
fee, ALL students are required to pay the fee.
Materials fees are due the first day of class.
After students have received
instructions from their teacher, they may have the option of
paying their materials fees online at the North Orange
County ROP Web Store.
