Celebration of Success

1100 family members and friends clapped and cheered for the 260 students honored at the annual North Orange County ROP Celebration of Success student awards ceremony Friday, May 8, at the Heritage Forum Theater in Anaheim.  The Career Education Foundation gave more than $35,000 in awards and scholarships to the career-technical education students, who attend classes on 23 high school and three ROP campuses.  

Career Sector winners were chosen for excellence in their chosen fields: In the case of a single person winning the award, the amount granted was $400.  Persons who shared the award were given $200 each.

Ray Gerace Memorial Award students were chosen for leadership and excellence in the field. The award is funded by Kaaren Gerace Hathaway and by Gerace family members. The three top students shared a $1900 prize.  Eleven runners-up received $100 each.

Alan Rene Dewey Memorial Award winners were chosen for greatest personal growth, excellence in the field, and the capacity for humanitarian leadership.  Three students shared the $1000 prize donated by John and Yvonne Dewey and other anonymous donors.  Student winners are:
