Instruction
ROP provides high quality, accredited career training.

North Orange County ROP courses integrate academic studies and hands-on training. All instructors are industry-trained professionals and California-credentialed teachers. Most courses are sequenced, with advanced training in the field available at area colleges. North Orange County ROP is WASC-accredited, and its courses approved by the California State Department of Education. Classes are conducted using one or more of the following methods:

Classroom-only
Learning takes place in a classroom setting with hands-on skills training using industry-standard equipment.

Community classroom (CC)
Students can earn credits for class and training time. Learning takes place in both the classroom and in the workplace throughout the course. Students training on the job in business, industry, public agency or health provider sites are unpaid.

Prerequisites
ROP courses may first require completion of another course, a certification, or a successful assessment, etc.

A current ServSafe certificate is required in most Culinary classes except: Safety and Sanitation; Nutrition and Menu Planning and Restaurant Management.

Assessment of basic skills is required for most medical classes. Call 714-502-5858 to reserve a seat for assessment testing scheduled for Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 9:30 am, or Monday, January 10, 2011 at 2:30 pm.

Medical Core and CPR certification are required for enrollment in: Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Medical Insurance Coding.

Pharmacy Technician prerequisite for adults: Pre-entrance assessment.

Other prerequisites may apply. Check the course catalog online at www.nocrop.us to verify.

Articulation
Some ROP classes prepare students for advanced training at local colleges.

North Orange County Regional Occupational Program has articulation agreements with several local colleges for 47 courses. These agreements permit students who have completed our programs to enroll in advanced training at the college without having to repeat some of the basics, and receive college credits for some classes. See ROP catalog for details.
