2011 ROP Teacher of the Year
Robert Villegas, ROP
Multimedia Production and Visual Arts Instructor, was
surprised Friday, February 19, when North Orange County ROP
Superintendent Michael Worley, Ed.D, Fullerton Union High
School Principal Cathy Gach, Ed.D, a number of staff and FUHS
photography students invaded his classroom. He was even
more surprised when Dr. Worley said, "Congratulations,
you've been selected as ROP's 2011 Teacher of the Year!"
Robert will be honored by
the Orange County Department of Education next fall in a
ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel, and entered into the
countywide competition for Teacher of the Year that
culminates in a national contest.
The county-wide Teacher of the Year
competition is sponsored by the Orange County Department of
Education, Disneyland, The Orange County Register, and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. Winners of the contest
will be announced next fall.

Tapped as CACTE's 2010 Outstanding
New Career and Technical Teacher
Amy Jensen,
North Orange County
ROP
instructor, Child Development and Principles of
Teaching and Learning at Troy High School, has been
selected as the 2010 Outstanding New Career and Technical
Teacher by the California Association of Career Technical
Educators. She will be honored in a ceremony at the
Educating for Careers National Conference on Tuesday,
March 2, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Garden Grove.
