North Orange County ROP

Explore careers while in high school!
Now is the time to start planning your career.
         Talk with your counselor.

All high school students are eligible to take appropriate ROP classes.

In addition to on-campus, school day classes, ROP offers after-school and off-campus classes for ALL high school students

ROP also offers day, late afternoon, evening, & weekend programs that are open to adult students as well as high school students (space permitting).

Note: North Orange County ROP cannot guarantee that any class primarily serving adults will be open to adults beyond the current term.  This is because California Education Code 52302.8 requires that ROPs reduce the number of adults served.

Earn elective credits!
Elective credits may be applied toward high school graduation. The number of credits is determined by your high school.

ROP offers after-school and off-campus classes for ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

ROP also has programs open to both high school students and ADULT STUDENTS (space permitting) - day, late afternoon, evening, & weekend classes.

In addition to regular classes, we also offer fee-based classes (in a effort to continue serving adults).

  Great Value
High school students pay no registration fees for regular classes.

Materials Fees
Some regular (non fee-based) classes require materials fees to cover the cost of consumables (something you use or take home to keep).  If a class has a materials fee, ALL students are required to pay the fee.  Materials fees are due the first day of class. Materials fee payments may now be made conveniently online.

ROP Web Store
After students have received instructions from their teacher, they may have the option of paying their materials fees online at the North Orange County ROP Web Store.

For answers to FAQs about paying material fees online, visit the North Orange County ROP Web Store at the following link: Materials Fee Payment .

  Student Resources Available
A variety of services and programs promote student success.

Advanced Placement and College Credit

Certain classes help you earn advanced placement and/or college credit if you earn an A or B.  Ask your instructor about articulation.

North Orange County Regional Occupational Program has entered into articulation agreements with several local community colleges.  These agreements permit students who have completed our programs to enroll in further training at the community college without having to repeat some of the basics, and receive college credits for some classes.

The requirements to receive the advanced placement and/or credits vary by the individual course.  Inquiries should be made with your instructor to learn the specifics.  College processing fees may apply.

Please see the course schedule for specific information.  To view a list of classes for which high school students can earn University of California a-g credits click here.

Open-entry Classes

Students may enroll in "open-entry' classes throughout the semester. A wide variety of courses are offered, sometimes with on-the-job opportunities. Experienced instructors help you start and advance through coursework, and some classes have a self-paced learning environment. Open-entry classes allow you to fit classes into your busy daily schedule, as training hours are often flexible.

Class Locations

ROP classes are held in four facilities and 25 high schools in the North Orange County region. Additionally, more than 650 local businesses support ROP with on-site training for ROP students.

Visit our Locations page.

ROP offers three afterschool career-technical magnet programs (off-campus).  Explore Career Technical Magnet Programs.

ROP afterschool career-technical magnet programs are designed especially for career-minded high school students.  This is a great opportunity for your student to begin exploring careers along with students with similar interests.
