ROP Classes for DSPs

Direct Support Professional Training

ROP provides Direct Support Professional training courses at no cost to currently employed direct care providers to help them meet their certification requirements. This training is required for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who have not passed the challenge exam. Successful completers receive a certificate that allows them to continue employment in the field.

Please note that there are two separate classes (35 hours each): Year 1 (for those employed a year or less), and Year 2 (for those who have completed the Year 1 course exam and are in the second year of employment).

In lieu of the training, a Year 1 and Year 2 challenge exam may be taken. Direct Support Professionals are exempt from the classes if they pass challenge exams. For information regarding the challenge exams, please call Christina Standerfer at 714- 502-5876.

Enrollment for the training courses is on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes can be offered at facilities with sufficient enrollment. To enroll, please call Christina Standerfer, two weeks before the beginning of class, at 714- 502-5876. A CCF vendor code is required to enroll for a class or a challenge exam.
