Vocational Nursing Program Information

IMPORTANT:
Health occupations
classes include the study of reproductive and other systems. The classes also require practicing procedures on other students and/or patients, both male and female, of differing ages.

Participation in these activities is required for a certificate of completion and continuation in the career pathway.

Fees  for books, educational materials, and/or lab fees are required for some health sciences classes.  The fee amounts are subject to change.  All fee totals in our class schedules are approximations, and are different for each course.  Students may elect to pay fees with cash or credit card. 

Fees are non-refundable, and are due at the first class.  An itemized textbook/materials price list is under construction to assist you plan for books/materials purchases.

A clear criminal background investigation clearance is required for participation in any class with a hospital/clinical component (Fee:$49, subject to change).

Additional Parking for the East Ball Road Campus is located in the parking lot behind the Global Christian Korean Church,1026 S. East Street (across from the Anaheim City High School District, one block west-one block north of the EBR Campus). There are 75 parking spaces allotted for ROP students and staff.  It is a 12-15 minute walk.  Students are guests of the church and must be respectful of the environment.  Please, no littering or loud music. The EBR location is temporarily closed as of 12/15/08. Current EBR remodeling is set to be completed by the summer of 2010, and some courses are expected to move back to the improved EBR campus by the start of the fall 2010 semester (perhaps sooner).

East Ball Road classes, orientations, etc., are continuing at various alternate locations.

Cosmetology Orientations


The ROP Cosmetology Program is not offered to adults.

  • All cosmetology orientations have been cancelled as of February 23, 2010.

  • Cosmetology registration is CLOSED until September 2010.


CPR sign-ups have been relocated to the ROP Acacia Facility, 1548 E. Walnut Ave., Fullerton.


Medical Core is the prerequisite class for the following health sciences courses:

  • Nurse Assistant
  • Nurse Assistant Acute Care
  • Medical Assistant
  • Computerized Medical Insurance Billing
  • EKG Aide
  • Medical Insurance Coding

Students should enroll in Medical Core first, before registering in the listed health occupations classes. Prerequisite: attainment of required academic level in pre-entrance assessment, or approval by ROP administration is required to enroll in Medical Core.

Adult Pre-entrance Assessment for Medical Core

Adults interested in enrolling in Medical Core must sign up for pre-entrance assessment. Students must pass this pre-entrance (pre-enrollment) assessment before registration. Pre-entrance assessment is required for adults interested in enrolling in most health sciences classes.

The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate skills, (basic reading and math) required for class success and to provide educational alternatives if necessary.

Adults interested in enrolling in the Advanced Dental Assistant classes must sign up for pre-entrance assessment. Dental Occupations are currently are offered at the ROP Acacia Facility.  Classes include: Dental Assistant, Coronal Polish, Radiation Safety (X-Ray), and Registered Dental Assistant (RDA classes begin in September and January.  Students must pass pre-enrollment assessment before registration.



Vocational Nursing Program Information

The Vocational Nursing Course is approved and accredited by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Theory and clinical experiences in a variety of settings provide students with the knowledge and skills to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
