ROP Technology Services Overview
The Technology Services Department (TSD)
provides leadership and assistance in delivering information
technology necessary to support the programs educational and
business goals.
TSD is comprised of two
functional groups, namely, the Technology Support Group and the
Reprographics Unit.
To accomplish this purpose,
TSD provides the following specific services:
Assistance in developing policy and planning for the effective use of technology
Assistance in planning, acquisition, implementation and
support of technology
Technology research and technology standards development
Computer, software, and network design and implementation
Help desk system, troubleshooting and repair
Internet access and e-mail accounts
Maintenance of network, student information system,
internet and intranet web sites
Multimedia technology assistance (PowerPoint presentation,
digital imaging, video authoring and editing)
Notebook computer, audio-video equipment and media checkout
program
Telecommunications support (landline and cell phones, fax, PDAs, pagers)
Storage media duplication services (CD, DVD, VHS)
Copying and related services:
Reprographic services,
printing of booklets, forms, syllabus and documents
Assists in supporting program copiers
Online submission of originals via OPRA
Effective
March 2010, reprographic
requests should be sent via OPRA
requests sent to reprographics
(for copying and other
reprographic services) will be
processed at the Education
Center but production may be
then routed to the Orange County Department of
Education (OCDE) in Costa Mesa for
completion.
Please allow extra turnaround time
for all your reprographic
orders. Keep transit time
in mind for jobs going to and
from OCDE.
In some cases Tech Services may be able to
complete basic requests at the
Education Center, but due to varying
resources and in the interest of
serving you better, the majority
of requests will be filled
by OCDE.
Prices at OCDE are competitive,
and generally much less than
Staples. If your request
is urgent, you may go to Staples
or other local commercial
reprographic centers.
